A look at the connections of the soundbar

Nicely labeled and easy for people to determine where things go.

From here you can see that there are the following ports:

  • Subwoofer Out

  • USB

  • DC IN (Power)

  • Coax In

  • Optical

Setup for me was a breeze.   Since everything is clearly marked and everything was included in the box I had no issue connecting it to a TV.

I chose afterwards to put the Subwoofer on the ground as it can get a little noisy with it vibrating on wood.    This was more to show them together and the nice size of it all.

The buttons on the Sound Bar itself I only found helpful a few times when I was within reaching distance of the TV or if I had something plugged into it with the RCA cables.

Testing:

BLUETOOTH

This comes enabled with Bluetooth 4.2

I was able to play with the level of the BASS and TREBLE along with the music., as well as play with the MUSIC setting on the remote as well.

I could feel the 110dB more than I thought I would from something so slim.

The Subwoofer maxed out a bit, but I believe that during normal listening volume that this would not be an issue.   It was only when I tested it at a high volume and maxed the BASS + button out that it distorted.

After I listened to a wide variety of music I changed this over to an audiobook that I have been listening to.

The audio for this we exceptionally good and had a clear crisp sound to it.

The option is available to use the Bluetooth for your Apple, Amazon Echo, Smartphone or Tablet.

OPTICAL IN

I tested this with our TV with an Amazon Fire Stick.

This increased the ability of this TV to have the sound go a further distance.

Much the same as the Bluetooth test it has the same options to remove and add BASS and TREBLE.

I did not have any issue with this maxing out the subwoofer this time even in intense action scenes.

COAX IN

For this I plugged in my Raspberry Pi unit that has Coax plugs.   Had no issue getting the sound to work right away and was able to customize the sound the way I wanted just fine.

USB

When I tested out the USB I had a few issues but was able to figure it out.   I had more than just music on the USB drive that I inserted.   I could not get it to play music with the other files on it.    Once I removed the other files I could play the music just fine.

I did not find this feature useful as there is no display to tell me what music is next, but I can see that it would have its uses for others.    I think a shuffle button would have been nice as well to increase the usability of this feature.

Other Features

Other features that I had noticed was the ability to mount this to the wall.   Although I chose not to do this it does look like the mounts for this would be more than capable of holding this to the wall.    The subwoofer cable should be plenty long enough to reach the soundbar as well with it sitting on a table or even the floor.

IR Remote Functionality

I was able to get the IR functionality to work with the remote fairly easily to get it working with my TV remote.    Definitely a plus for those that do not want to have 10 remotes laying around for different devices.

Take-away

The options that this Soundbar has are comparable to anything that is out there on the market between the $200-$300 range.

I feel like this holds up against those and even has a few features that I would not expect to be customizable like the Treble and Bass.

Overall, we tend to use the more for music in the office as the subwoofer and crisp sound are exceptional.

The only ding that I would give this is the issues I had with the subwoofer maxing out.  Not a big deal for us at the office, but it could be for those that do not know that it can damage the subwoofer.

I would recommend this with a 4.5 out of 5 stars for both price and clarity.
